Payment, Cancellations & Refunds

When making a payment through the RAIS website, you will be required to accept these Terms and Conditions each time a payment is made.

1. Professional and Business Use

RAIS courses and workshops are designed primarily for professional development within the acting and entertainment industries.

RAIS generally provides its services to participants attending for purposes connected with their trade, business, craft or profession.

If you are attending wholly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession and believe you are acting as a consumer, please notify RAIS management in writing before making your booking.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

2. Cancellations by Participants

If you need to cancel your place, you must provide RAIS with at least 5 working days’ notice before the scheduled start of the course or workshop.

Where at least 5 working days’ notice is provided, the value of your booking will be returned to you as RAIS credit, rather than as a cash refund.

If you cancel with fewer than 5 working days’ notice, RAIS may issue a credit if your place can be filled by another participant. If the place cannot be filled, no credit will normally be due.

3. RAIS Credit

Where a credit is issued, it will be valid for 12 months from the date stated on the relevant credit note.

RAIS credit may be used towards any eligible RAIS course or workshop taking place within the credit period, subject to availability.

Unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated in these Terms, credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.

4. Cancellations by RAIS

If RAIS cancels a course or workshop and is unable to provide the booked service, any payment due to be returned to the participant will be refunded in full.

This is separate from a participant choosing to cancel their own booking.

5. Conduct During Courses and Workshops

RAIS is committed to providing a professional, respectful and productive learning environment.

Participants whose behaviour is seriously disruptive, inappropriate or detrimental to the workshop, its participants, tutors or guests may be required to leave.

For a multi-day course or workshop, a participant may also be prevented from attending the remaining sessions where RAIS reasonably considers this necessary.

No refund or credit will normally be provided for any part of a course or workshop missed as a result of a participant being required to leave because of their intentional misconduct or disruptive behaviour.

Any refund or credit requested in other exceptional circumstances will be considered by RAIS on an individual basis. Where RAIS agrees that a refund is appropriate, it may be calculated on a pro-rata basis according to the part of the course or workshop that the participant was unable to attend.

6. Casting Director Workshops

The presence or participation of a Casting Director does not constitute a guarantee, promise or expectation of employment, casting, an audition or any other professional engagement.

Casting Director workshops are provided solely for educational and professional development purposes and are not job interviews or auditions.

7. Agent Workshops

RAIS Agent Workshops do not offer or imply any promise of representation and are not showcases.

They are professional workshop environments designed to enable actors to learn, develop their skills and gain relevant industry insight.

Participating agents may, for example, provide insight based on their professional experience of reviewing self-tapes and working with professional actors, as well as their perspective on the current industry and approaches to seeking or changing talent representation.

Participation in an Agent Workshop does not guarantee representation, employment, an audition, a meeting or any other professional opportunity.

8. Photography, Video and Promotional Material

From time to time, RAIS may take photographs, video or other recordings during courses and workshops. These may be used for purposes including evaluation and the promotion, publicity and marketing of RAIS, its courses and workshops.

Such material may include identifiable images, voices or performances of participants attending the course or workshop.

Participants may opt out of the future promotional use of their identifiable image, voice or performance by notifying RAIS in writing before the relevant workshop or before any recording takes place.

Where reasonably practicable, RAIS will take appropriate steps to avoid including a participant who has opted out in promotional recordings or materials created after the opt-out has been received.

An opt-out will not normally require RAIS to recall, destroy or remove promotional material that was lawfully created and published before the written opt-out was received. RAIS will, however, consider reasonable requests concerning the removal of existing digital material from channels under its control.

Where consent or another lawful basis is required by applicable law for a particular use of photographs, video, audio or other personal data, RAIS will handle that material in accordance with its applicable privacy obligations.
